SCREW THE NORMAL LIFE!!! I'm going diving...

7 years on-air on national radio, 19 years of corporate bullshit, I've climbed the ladders always ONLY to find more stress, dissatisfaction and LESS time for what matters.

I packed up my bags in February 2009 with only 5 shirts and 4 pairs of shorts and became a PADI Instructor to live "THE SIMPLE LIFE".

THIS IS MY BLOG...

Perhentian - Kuala Besut - Pangkalan Kubor - Takbai - Narathiwat - Bankok

I apologize - I deleted some of my older web albums not realizing that many of my posts here were linked to them :(

Recently made a quick trip to Bankok and decided to explore the fastest way to make this journey thru Narathiwat Airport.

From Bankok June 2010

Here's my flow:
  1. Get out from Perhentian on the 0800 ferry (to Kuala Besut)
  2. Take a taxi from Kuala Besut Jetty to Pankalan Kubor (The Malaysian side of the border). This ride should cost you RM90 and should take less than 90 minutes.
  3. You will need to stamp your passport and take a 2 minute ferry ride to Takbai (Thai side of the border). This ferry ride costs only RM1.
  4. At Takbai, you will need to walk yourself to the Immigration counter (only 5 minutes walk from where you alight from the ferry).
  5. After getting your passport stamped, you will need to catch a taxi to Narathiwat Airport (Less than 30 minutes away). I paid RM40 for this ride.
  6. Book your direct flight from Narathiwat to Bankok with Thai Air Asia or 12GO. Flight time was only 70 minutes and it cost my RM150.
Overall trip was Perhentian Island to Kuala Besut Jetty (20 minutes) + Kuala Besut to Pangkalan Kubor (90 minutes) + Takbai to Narathiwat (30 minutes) + Flight to Bankok (70 minutes) = 3 hours and 30 minutes.
