Started my year with deciding to buy myself a new BCD for my 2010 season of teaching...my old Cressi Aquapro 5 had served me a good 6-7 years and was still functioning very well (no tears, no leaks, just looking very worn out) so I figured that it was almost time to rest it...
Before heading off to my year of work on the island, I did a round of dive shopping and had been HIGHLY RECOMMENDED the award winning Mares Prestige with an assurance that it was a good BCD, that would serve me well. I had in the past had bad experiences with Mares (SPG lasted me only 7-8 month & fins tore after only a year of use), I was assured that the new dealership would offer better service and better access to parts and repairs...so I decided it would be a safe purchase.
Trim weight pocket tore only after 2 weeks of use and I packed it back into the original plastic bag and sent it back with the manual and warranty card...also sent in an email to the dealer stating my situation with the new purchase...
1 week after sending the email - no reply
2 weeks after the email - no reply
3 weeks after the email - no reply
4 weeks later I send the BCD back to KL thru a friend, and they sent it back with her saying "they've sent in a claim, so they wont accept the torn BCD from her"...
5 weeks later, still no contact or advice from the dealer...BCD in my friend's house...and me just waiting, waiting, waiting....
Getting very annoyed now...
