A SHORT NOTE FOR PLANNING THE TRIP
Lot's of friends have asked me about the travel from KL and I would highly recommend taking the bus from PWTC (KL) direct to the Kuala Besut Jetty at night, cos this saves you money (Expensive taxi from Kota Bahru Airport to the Jetty - it's a 1 hour drive).
IF you were to take the first flight out of KL, you would also have to take the 1 hour ride to LCCT - check in 1 hour before flying - fly for 1 hour - catch a 1 hour taxi ride - then the 30 minute boat ride - such a nightmare for travel.
IF YOU TAKE THE BUS AT 9:30PM ON FRIDAY NIGHT - YOU JUMP ON THE BUS, SLEEP ALL THE WAY, REACH THE JETTY AT 6AM, HAVE BREAKFAST AND CATCH THE 7:00AM BOAT IN! EASY!
I would also highly recommend you spend at least 4 days on the island to complete your course without having to do any midnight reading! Some people want to finish fast - but that means you do no sun bathing and no relaxing on the beach. You start the minute you arrive and end just in time to catch the boat back to the mainland. I've seen this and it isn't a holiday.
Going back, I recommend you take the 4pm boat out of the island and catch an evening flight back to KL...
Just my recommendation...
